Even though screws, nuts, and bolts are found in many antique trunks that have been repaired or restored and in modern trunks, trunk nails and tacks are the way in which they were originally constructed. If you have an old unrestored trunk, then you would notice that you have a lot of trunk nails or tacks. Trunk nails are more unique because the nails get bent or curled over on the inside of the trunk making a sturdier piece.
